Be Prepared for God to Show Up – Pastor Dodge Our God is a God who shows up and therefore we can talk about even uncomfortable things with confidence and assurance. We do not fear monger. We speak the truth. We speak the truth in love and that love casts out all fear. Be prepared for God to show up. Be prepared for God to show up in the good times as well as in the difficult times. When we call on Him, we can be confident that He will show up. Listen to these words from the book of Psalms. This is from Psalm 145:18, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” The Lord is near. Now is that just a nice little bromide that you can hang on your refrigerator and say, “Oh yeah, well I know I believe that could happen some time so I’ll put it up there and look at it every now and then?” Or is that the truth? Is that just a nice little phrase or is that a declaration of the living God? If God is God and I know He is, then His word is true and you and I can count on it no matter what the circumstances. He is near. That’s what He declares, and that means He’s near right now to you and to me.
